About the Role and Your Responsibilities

In your role as a coordinator, you will be an active part of the cooking process together with your colleagues.

You will lead and distribute the daily work in the kitchen and be responsible for ensuring that food, offerings, and service maintain good quality together with your colleagues. Daily tasks include preparation, cooking, special diets, dishwashing, and cleaning. As a coordinator, you will also, together with the unit manager, be responsible for kitchen economics, administration, and workplace safety issues. You will be involved in driving quality and efficiency together with the unit manager and the workgroup. Among other things, you will handle inventory orders, dining room orders, and work in a dietary data program. You will be responsible for ongoing dialogue with our partners and their representatives as well as our diners by, for example, participating in meal councils. You will also, together with your colleagues, perform the tasks outlined in self-control in accordance with food legislation and the Food Agency's regulations.

You will actively and collaboratively work to contribute to the development and goals of the workplace and the organization. You will represent Lund Municipality in a professional manner by working to implement and enforce the municipality's processes, guidelines, and policies. You will report to your immediate unit manager.

We Are Looking for You

You have completed a 3-year restaurant and food program or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. You have worked for at least 5 years as a chef and have at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory role. We expect that you have worked with self-control. We also appreciate if you have experience working with special diets and using a dietary data program. If you have completed a leadership training and have experience leading change, we consider it an asset.

The role of coordinator requires you to have a holistic view and good leadership skills in terms of being able to lead and motivate others as well as create participation and engagement among colleagues. You have good communication skills, enjoy development, and see opportunities in changes. You can quickly shift focus and adapt to changing circumstances. You are proactive and organize, plan, and prioritize work effectively. It is natural for you to have a positive, professional, and respectful attitude in meetings with both internal and external partners.

The role of coordinator also requires that you have computer skills and experience working with the Office suite. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

About the Workplace

The Meal Service operation, which consists of 46 kitchens distributed across eight units, includes the preparation of meals for preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, and elderly care. Daily, approximately 20,000 portions are prepared by over 200 employees. Meal Service strives to provide good food, promote healthy eating habits, and excellent service.

The kitchen at Delfinskolan serves about 300 lunch portions to students, as well as breakfast and snacks. The workgroup consists of a coordinator, a kitchen assistant, and a chef. There is a well-established collaboration with the school operations, and there is ongoing active work with the meal experience where diners contribute with great engagement and participation.

The Service Administration meets the needs of Lund Municipality's other administrations and municipal companies for service. We have about 600 employees. Together, we work to build and maintain the municipality's buildings, premises, and housing, ensuring that they are intact, clean, and functioning as they should. We prepare food for the municipality's children, youth, and elderly, take care of green areas around the municipality's buildings, and manage the municipality's vehicles and transport.
